Dredging for Diamonds
I was just coming up from a long day of diving. We were dredging an area about 20 ft deep. I was using a 10 inch suction dredge and it was working very well for us. The bottom was a cemented dolomite limestone. The dredging was slow going due to the cemented gravels. We started using a power washer to break it up and this really helped us up our production. My buddy Dave Mack came up with that one. Additional problems we encountered was a lot of grass that continuously blinded our suction screen on the intake. I hung removable sections of screen of off the intake and this solved the problem. We were getting some small diamonds from this test.
